Fantastically friendly staff, had good stay!!!
Feeling that I appreciated this recently renovated hotel after staying for 1 night. The location was particularly good and comfortable for Ashland, so close to a large truck stop, abandoned restaurant and front view and Kings Dominion and downtown Ashland. It also was down to the park. I stayed here for a trip and would book again.

Consider requesting a room away from the highway for a quieter stay and better comfort.

pretty cheap
Towels and sheets are very old and stained with brown. Quiet but next to abandoned restaurant and front view is the rear of a truck stop. If you are looking for a retro hotel this is the place.

Good water pressure for the shower and hot water.
Horrible damp carpet. Tried to plug in cell phones to charge behind the TV and the outlets stopped working so that meant no TV, fridge or microwave. I called the front desk the next morning to request someone fix it for us before we returned late that evening and I was hung up on after I advised of the issue. The sink sprayed water all over the counter whenever it was turned on. The only outlet that would allow a charger to remain plugged in without constantly falling out was the one by the sink!

Nothing. It was horrible
For starters, it smelt like cigarettes in a non-smoking room. The room looks dirty, there we were cigarette butts and cups full of chew tobacco on the stairs. Thankfully, there was a lovely Quality Inn directly across from where we were staying, we spent one night and left that morning and took the $50 a night loss because they refused to refund us! Do not stay here!! Go next door to the Quality Inn!

The staff wasn't rude and they respected the "do not disturb" sign in the morning.
The bathroom drain didn't work. Only one outlet in the entire room worked and you had to reset it multiple times. The tv buzzed when you turned it on. The man above us was screaming crying the first night. The carpet was gross. The shower was gross. The bedding was gross. The room smelled gross. The surrounding area was completely overgrown and abandoned but you couldn't tell that from the pictures. The Chinese place next door looked straight out of a horror movie. This place was awful.

The carpet looked like it had a rough life!!! Bathroom tiles with mildew could use a deep clean!!! The old-school TV feels out of place, could modernize the entertainment setup!!!

I didn't like anything!
It was horrible. They didn't have enough towels for the room. All the buttons on the phone were missing. It was horrible. That's what you get when you pay $50 per night.
